Finn & Sandy Torjesen

In 1993, Finn, along with Sandy and their six-year old twins, enthusiastically accepted the invitation from the Vice Governor of Shanxi Province to move to China and continue God’s work in China in the spirit of his grandfather, Peter Torjesen. While this seemed crazy by most standards, expatriates and Chinese alike have joined with the Torjesens these past 30 years, carrying on the work his grandparents began generations earlier.

As a visionary committed to living out risky faith, Finn’s heart was for God’s work to continue in Shanxi. New projects, new ideas, supporting young people, and building up local staff—all were near to his heart.  To honor him, we have established Finn’s Risky Faith Fund, a memorial fund dedicated to supporting those things he considered essential to his bold vision for Shanxi.
